About Me

I'm Jack, a freelance full-stack developer based in Brighton, UK. I've been building for the web for over twenty years, and I work almost entirely with Laravel and Statamic. I work with both design studios and agencies who bring me in as their developer, as well as directly with my own clients. I like solving interesting problems, and Statamic gives me the right balance of structure and freedom to do that well.

For full site builds I work with Statamic, using Blade and Antlers for templating, Livewire and Alpine.js where a page needs to be reactive, and Tailwind for styling. I take the same care over the control panel as the front end, so the design is built faithfully and the people editing it day to day find it easy to work with. Plenty of projects go beyond a standard brochure site: booking systems, third-party API integrations, member areas and bespoke tools. I can take the application side as far as a project needs.

Alongside building sites I also extend Statamic with custom features and integrations, both for specific projects and as addons I publish and maintain. I've released a number of these, several built around the Bard fieldtype and others for working with content and data, like Distill. That experience lets me build the specific features and integrations a project calls for.
